Dr. Edilberto Amorim is the Director of the ZSFG Electrophysiology (EEG) Service, a physician on our Neurocritical Care Team in the ZSFG Intensive Care Unit (ICU), with expertise in neurological intensive care, telemedicine, and multimodal brain monitoring with EEG.
Aaron Berkowitz is a Professor of Clinical Neurology at UCSF, where he serves as a neurohospitalist, general neurologist, and clinician-educator at SF VA Medical Center and San Francisco General Hospital. He previously served as director of global neurology at Brigham and Women's Hospital and associate professor of neurology at Harvard Medical School, where he developed and directed the first year Mind, Brain, Behavior course.
Dr. Alexandra Brown, MD is a Jan Shrem and Maria Manetti Shrem Professor and an Associate Professor of Neurology at UCSF. She received her undergraduate degree in Neuroscience at Brown University in Providence, RI and her medical degree from The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences in Washington, DC. She completed her Neurology Residency and Clinical Neurophysiology-EMG fellowship at The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. Dr. Brown has been a Clinician-Educator in the UCSF Department of Neurology since 2015.
I am a neurologist specializing in the treatment of epilepsy. Much of my professional life has been dedicated to building the clinical programs of the UCSF Epilepsy Center. My research is aimed at improving the diagnosis and treatment of people with hard-to-treat epilepsy. My teaching is centered on clinical epilepsy education for fellows, residents and students. My university service has been focused on assuring opportunity for students and faculty across the campus.
Dr. Gelfand is a Professor of Neurology at UCSF. He specializes in caring for patients with a wide range of neuroinflammatory and neurodegenerative disorders. Dr. Gelfand conducts clinical research, including clinical trials, focused on advancing new treatments and restoring neurological function. Dr. Gelfand is also an award-winning medical educator.
Dr. Jon Kleen is a neurologist who specializes in epilepsy care. He is dedicated to improving the lives of patients with epilepsy by stopping seizures and finding new ways to overcome epilepsy-related cognitive issues, such as memory problems.
